i had the wonderful opportunity while in st louis to meet up with jonathan twining. jon was a friend that i used to work with when i lived in boston, ma. he is currently a professor of environmental sciences at eastern nazarene college in quincy, ma. jon was leading a creation care track at the conference for 10,000 youth last week (nazarene youth conference). among the the speakers were also francis chan and princess zulu.

"Mr. Twining is also the president of Marah International, a Christian non-profit environmental organization. Through this organization, he is the director of the Creation Care Camp, a cross-cultural environmental and peacebuilding summer camp sponsored by Ezekiel's Place Retreat Center in Hedgesville, WV. Mr. Twining is a member of the committee that recently wrote the Creation Care Guidelines for the Church of the Nazarene. He is also a trustee for the Town of Smithfield, RI municipal land trust, where he is involved with the ongoing stewardship of several conservation properties."
jon and i are in conversation about incorporating a creation care track into the camp i am affiliated with during the summer months for ages 11-18. we would hope to begin this next summer. more on this in the months to come.

actually, i had an idea. what if you first did this with a small group in your youth ministry?
then they could help facilitate the practice at camp, providing stories of how teens have already lived green.

i'd like to hear how you hop on it...i'm thinking of figuring out how to teach it to our youth as well.
