my wife and i are expecting a child in early january. so lately we've entered into the whole baby diaper eco-friendly debate. we're discussing everything from health risks of disposable diapers, water use for washing cloth diapers, financial savings of cloth, energy consumption of making the raw materials for disposable, landfill issues, absorbent gel environmental impacts, frequency of changing diapers, etc. etc. etc.
my initial and honest reaction is to use disposable because of how convenient it is for me. no washing poopy diapers for me. no carrying dirty diapers around for me. no problems for me me me me me. me makes me sick sometimes. in other words, i am eco-friendly and passionate about caring for creation and talking about care for creation as long as it doesn't inconvenience me. but that's another post.
so we're wading through the information and beginning to have conversations with people who may have gone both routes. i would love any of your insight in regards to this decision. please leave a comment if you have even thought about this issue.

so, aubrey and i have just started this whole green thing together and one of the biggest steps for us is switching the diapers thing. but actually, when I heard that it takes approximately 300 years for disposable diapers to dissolve, that's what made me want to consider going green.
so we've got the diapers coming in the mail even as we type. they just sent us a message that they'd been sent.
i'll let you know how it goes. we went with fuzzy buns.
thanks josh for your info. do you have a link for that? and is there anyway you'll be at dplc?
Hey Josh,
will you let us know what you think about the fuzzy buns? it seems like a good choice. I'm curious about how many that we need to buy at first, how many little little ones, how many medium and so on. do you have any tips on washing them as you use them. As you and Aubrey use them, it would be great to know more of what you think since we have a few more months to consider.
thanks
