i've been thinking a lot lately about what being missional in the blogosphere would look like. i've posted about it before and asked for input here. it certainly can't be blogging about spiritual matters alone, which would not interest the non-believer enough to engage in a dialogue.
i think it needs to be a bit more organic and, of course, incarnational. i think it looks like pursuing those issues which you are passionate about. well, i'm passionate about film. so, lance and i have created filmpaper.com. we will be reviewing films from our own unique perspectives. hopefully, engaging others while doing something a bit different from the norm. our reviews aren't objective, like most others. instead we are purposefully subjective, due to the nature of our film experience. but rather than me explaining the site, maybe you should just visit often and become a part of our community over there:)

Great idea. We just had a community discussion at lunch with about 12 people yesterday on film and the importance of reading culture to better understand its spiritual impact on our lives.
if you have notes or anything from that discussion, i'd love to see them greg:)
Been back before, but out of time. Dredging an aging memory some of what we discussed at the meal was the following. We talked about the importance of film as an expression of ideas or world views. Some thought that the goal of film was entertainment, while others were more concerned about moral issues of certain kinds of films. There eventualy wound up being a concensus that it was relevant to try to understand the director and the story in a sympathetic, yet critical manner, that had both a subjective and objective dimension. Listening to the other through film was highlighted. Then we talked about becoming competent readers of culture and whether or not it really matters.
