aids in africa

emily oster (an economist and Becker Fellow at the University of Chicago) had an informative and provocative article in 'esquire' magazine the other day, which you can find here it's entitled 'three things you don't know about aids in africa'. i happened upon it while reading 'the blind beggar'.

i have to admit, at first i thought maybe oster was 'down' on raising awareness of aids in africa. but upon further review (football anyone?) i realized quickly that oster is passionate about dealing with aids in africa as right as possible. give it a read.
